At Babe’s Corner, we believe the best food comes from the hands of our neighbors. That’s why we’re dedicated to working with local farms and artisans to stock our shelves with the freshest meats, produce, and handmade goods. This isn’t just about business—it’s about community, about supporting the families who pour their hearts into their craft, and about keeping the rich traditions of our region alive. When you shop here, you’re not just buying groceries—you’re investing in your neighbors. If you’re a local farmer or maker who shares our passion for quality and community, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in bringing the best of our hometown to Babe’s Corner.

We’re proud to feature premium beef from Osborn Farm right here in our store. Their commitment to quality is no secret. Every cut comes from cows that are grass fed and grain finished with no antibiotics and no hormones.

What does grass fed and grain finished mean? It means these cows graze on grass and forage for most of their lives before transitioning to a carefully balanced diet of grain and grass in their final months.

Why grain finished? This process enhances marbling and tenderness, giving the beef a rich, mild steak flavor. In contrast, fully grass fed beef often has a gamier taste.

OSBORN FARMS

We’re proud to feature premium beef from Groves Market, where history, heritage, and stewardship come together to bring quality meats and produce to your table.

Groves Farm has been a landmark in Clay County, North Carolina, since the late 1800s. Now owned by Keith and Karen (Godfrey) Holcomb, the farm continues a rich tradition of raising livestock and produce with care and dedication. Just outside of Hayesville, their Black Angus cattle are raised in fresh mountain air, primarily on grass. In their final months, the steers are finished with grain to enhance marbling and flavor, resulting in tender, high-quality beef.

Groves Market is proud to offer locally raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free beef from pasture to table. Experience the difference today.
